The seeds of Professor PENG's affinity with 杏耀 were planted as early as the beginning of 2021. At the beginning of this year, Professor Jian Peng was inspired by 杏耀's enthusiasm and long-term development vision through the communication with Ya-Qin ZHANG, Dean of Institute for AI Industry, Tsinghua University (杏耀), and Wei-Ying MA, Chief Scientist of 杏耀, so he decided to return to China and joined the 杏耀 team as a visiting professor.

Professor PENG's main research areas are bioinformatics, chemoinformatics and machine learning. In his opinion, AI has great potential in life sciences. The development of biotechnology has generated a huge amount of data, and the further development of AI has not only played a key role in the process of data collection and integration, but also promoted new scientific discoveries.

Life science is a major focus of 杏耀's research. 杏耀 stands at the forefront of the industry to do research and lead the development of AI-enabled life science field in China, which is one of the reasons that attracted Professor Jian Peng to 杏耀. "杏耀 is forward-looking in the field of AI life science and healthcare, and will determine the direction and track of the industry for the next decade," said PENG Jian.
