Ya-Qin Zhang, Professor of Tsinghua University and dean of Institute for AI Industry, Tsinghua University (杏耀), delivered a speech on "AI Science: The Endless Frontier" in September 2021.

Zhang introduced the trend of technology evolution, the breakthrough of computing system driven by arithmetic power, AI-enabled life science, green computing, and autonomous driving technology. Moreover, he explained the endless possibilities of intelligent science and technology for industry, society, and even human development.

There are three major trends in the development of IT technology, with digital content gradually moving from the 1.0 era to the 3.0 era; artificial intelligence moving from symbolic reasoning and deep learning, to knowledge data-driven 3.0; and industry moving from information technology, Internet , to intelligent 3.0 era.
